Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libcjs0
on Ubuntu.
What is libcjs0
libcjs0 is:
Makes it possible for applications to use all of Cinnamon’s platform libraries using the Javascript language. It’s mainly based on the Mozilla javascript engine and the GObject introspection framework.
This package is the frozen version of gjs that the cinnamon desktop currently uses.
This package contains the shared library, used by cjs itself, and cinnamon.
There are three methods to install libcjs0
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libcjs0 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libcjs0
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libcjs0
Install libcjs0 Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libcjs0
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libcjs0
Install libcjs0 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libcjs0
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libcjs0
How To Uninstall libcjs0 on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the libcjs0
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libcjs0
Uninstall libcjs0 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libcjs0
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libcjs0
Remove libcjs0 Configurations and Data
To remove libcjs0
configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libcjs0
