Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install libbasix0 on Ubuntu.

What is libbasix0

libbasix0 is:

Computes FE basis functions and derivatives for the following elements:

Computes quadrature rules on different cell types

Provides reference topology and geometry for reference cells of each type.

Python wrapper provided with pybind11.

This package installs the shared library.

There are three methods to install libbasix0 on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libbasix0 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libbasix0 using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libbasix0

Install libbasix0 Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libbasix0 using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install libbasix0

Install libbasix0 Using aptitude
