What is libapache2-mod-auth-mellon

libapache2-mod-auth-mellon is:

mod-auth-mellon is an Apache module which enables you to authenticate users of a web site against a SAML 2.0 enabled IdP. It can grant access to paths and provide attributes to other modules and applications.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libapache2-mod-auth-mellon using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libapache2-mod-auth-mellon

To remove libapache2-mod-auth-mellon configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libapache2-mod-auth-mellon

Remove libapache2-mod-auth-mellon configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove libapache2-mod-auth-mellon configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libapache2-mod-auth-mellon
