In this tutorial we learn how to install kopano-core on Ubuntu.

What is kopano-core

kopano-core is:

The Kopano Collaboration Platform (KCP) is a complete, stable and flexible groupware solution supporting open source as well as proprietary clients including mobile ones. By install of the additional package kopano-webapp it also features a modern web interface.

This metapackage contains the dependencies to pull in all important parts of Kopano Core.

There are three methods to install kopano-core on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install kopano-core Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install kopano-core using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install kopano-core

Install kopano-core Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install kopano-core using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install kopano-core

Install kopano-core Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install kopano-core using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install kopano-core

How To Uninstall kopano-core on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the kopano-core package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove kopano-core

Uninstall kopano-core And Its Dependencies

To uninstall kopano-core and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove kopano-core

Remove kopano-core Configurations and Data

To remove kopano-core configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge kopano-core

Remove kopano-core configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove kopano-core configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge kopano-core
