What is kio-ldap
kio-ldap is:
This is a library for accessing LDAP with a convenient Qt style C++ API. LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) is an application protocol for querying and modifying directory services running over TCP/IP.
This package contains the KIO slave.
There are three methods to install kio-ldap
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install kio-ldap Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install kio-ldap
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install kio-ldap

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install kio-ldap
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install kio-ldap
Install kio-ldap Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install kio-ldap
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install kio-ldap
How To Uninstall kio-ldap on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the kio-ldap
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove kio-ldap

and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove kio-ldap
Remove kio-ldap Configurations and Data

configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge kio-ldap
