Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install kconfig-frontends on Ubuntu.

What is `kconfig-frontends`

kconfig-frontends is:

Kconfig-frontends provides the kconfig parser, as well as all the frontends (dialog, ncurses, Qt and Gtk based) to configure and generate config files and config headers for various projects. This package release old both console (dialog, ncurses) and graphic (qt) versions.

There are three methods to install kconfig-frontends on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install kconfig-frontends Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo aptitude -y install kconfig-frontends

How To Uninstall kconfig-frontends on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the kconfig-frontends package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove kconfig-frontends

To uninstall kconfig-frontends and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove kconfig-frontends
