There are four concepts being tried out in the current kBuild incaration:

kBuild does not provide any facilities for checking compiler/library/header configurations, that’s not in its scope. If this is important for your project, check out the autoconf tool in the GNU build system. It is possible to use kBuild together with autoconf if you like, but you might just as well use the full GNU package.

There are three methods to install kbuild on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install kbuild Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install kbuild using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install kbuild

Install kbuild Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install kbuild using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install kbuild

Install kbuild Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install kbuild using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install kbuild

How To Uninstall kbuild on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the kbuild package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove kbuild

Uninstall kbuild And Its Dependencies

To uninstall kbuild and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove kbuild

Remove kbuild Configurations and Data

To remove kbuild configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge kbuild

Remove kbuild configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove kbuild configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge kbuild
