Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install jtb on Ubuntu.

What is jtb

jtb is:

JTB (Java Tree Builder) is a syntax tree builder and visitors generator to be used in front of JavaCC (Java Compiler Compiler). It takes a JavaCC grammar file as input (usually a “.jtb” file) and automatically generates the following:

New visitors, which subclass any generated one, can then override the default methods and perform various operations on and manipulate the generated syntax tree.

There are three methods to install jtb on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install jtb Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install jtb using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install jtb

Install jtb Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install jtb using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install jtb

Install jtb Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install jtb using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install jtb

How To Uninstall jtb on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the jtb package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove jtb

Uninstall jtb And Its Dependencies

To uninstall jtb and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove jtb

Remove jtb Configurations and Data

To remove jtb configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge jtb

Remove jtb configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove jtb configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge jtb
