Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install indi-eqmod on Ubuntu.

What is indi-eqmod

indi-eqmod is:

This package contains the INDI driver fpr EQMod.

This INDI driver interacts with a mount controller using the Skywatcher Protocol through a serial link. It can directly drive Skywatcher and similar mounts through a serial port after a conversion of signal levels (see EQDIRECT interface), or any other mount hardware which uses this protocol.

This driver is compatible with any INDI client such as KStars or Xephem.

There are three methods to install indi-eqmod on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install indi-eqmod Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install indi-eqmod using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install indi-eqmod

Install indi-eqmod Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install indi-eqmod using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install indi-eqmod

Install indi-eqmod Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install indi-eqmod using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install indi-eqmod

How To Uninstall indi-eqmod on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the indi-eqmod package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove indi-eqmod

Uninstall indi-eqmod And Its Dependencies

To uninstall indi-eqmod and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove indi-eqmod

Remove indi-eqmod Configurations and Data

To remove indi-eqmod configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge indi-eqmod

Remove indi-eqmod configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove indi-eqmod configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge indi-eqmod
