In this tutorial we learn how to install i2p-router on Ubuntu.

What is i2p-router

i2p-router is:

I2P is an anonymizing network, offering a simple layer that identity-sensitive applications can use to securely communicate. All data is wrapped with several layers of encryption, and the network is both distributed and dynamic, with no trusted parties.

There are three methods to install i2p-router on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install i2p-router Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install i2p-router using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install i2p-router

Install i2p-router Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install i2p-router using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install i2p-router

Install i2p-router Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install i2p-router using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install i2p-router

How To Uninstall i2p-router on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the i2p-router package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove i2p-router

Uninstall i2p-router And Its Dependencies

To uninstall i2p-router and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove i2p-router

Remove i2p-router Configurations and Data

To remove i2p-router configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge i2p-router

We can use the following command to remove i2p-router configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
