In this tutorial we learn how to install gstreamer1.0-pipewire on Ubuntu.

What is `gstreamer1.0-pipewire`

gstreamer1.0-pipewire is:

PipeWire is a server and user space API to deal with multimedia pipelines. This includes:

Making available sources of video (such as from a capture devices or application provided streams) and multiplexing this with clients.
Accessing sources of video for consumption.
Generating graphs for audio and video processing.

This package contains a plugin to make devices managed by the PipeWire server available as GStreamer sources and sinks.

There are three methods to install gstreamer1.0-pipewire on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

How To Uninstall gstreamer1.0-pipewire on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the gstreamer1.0-pipewire package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove gstreamer1.0-pipewire
