In this tutorial we learn how to install grisbi on Ubuntu.

What is grisbi

grisbi is:

Grisbi is a personal accounting program. Grisbi can handle multiple accounts, currencies and users. It helps you manage your money using third party, expenditure and receipt categories, as well as budgetary lines, financial years, and other information that makes it adapted for both personal and associative accounting.

Grisbi can import accounts from QIF, OFX and Gnucash files. It can print reports using LaTeX or export them via HTML.

There are three methods to install grisbi on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install grisbi Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install grisbi using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install grisbi

Install grisbi Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install grisbi using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install grisbi

Install grisbi Using aptitude
