on Ubuntu.
What is gnustep-gui-runtime
gnustep-gui-runtime is:
The GNUstep GUI Library is a powerful library of graphical user interface classes written completely in the Objective-C language; the classes are based upon the OpenStep specification, and provide the user with a traditional nextstep-like look and feel.
This package contains the runtime support files needed by GNUstep GUI applications.
There are three methods to install gnustep-gui-runtime
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install gnustep-gui-runtime Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install gnustep-gui-runtime
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install gnustep-gui-runtime
Install gnustep-gui-runtime Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install gnustep-gui-runtime
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install gnustep-gui-runtime
Install gnustep-gui-runtime Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install gnustep-gui-runtime
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install gnustep-gui-runtime
How To Uninstall gnustep-gui-runtime on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the gnustep-gui-runtime
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove gnustep-gui-runtime
Uninstall gnustep-gui-runtime And Its Dependencies
To uninstall gnustep-gui-runtime
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove gnustep-gui-runtime
Remove gnustep-gui-runtime Configurations and Data
To remove gnustep-gui-runtime
configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge gnustep-gui-runtime
Remove gnustep-gui-runtime configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove gnustep-gui-runtime
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge gnustep-gui-runtime
