In this tutorial we learn how to install fonts-quicksand
on Ubuntu.
What is fonts-quicksand
fonts-quicksand is:
Quicksand is a display sans serif with rounded terminals. The project was initiated by Andrew Paglinawan in 2008 using geometric shapes as a core foundation. It is designed for display purposes but kept legible enough to use in small sizes as well.
In 2016, in collaboration with Andrew, it was thoroughly revised by Thomas Jockin to improve the quality.
There are three methods to install fonts-quicksand
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install fonts-quicksand Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install fonts-quicksand
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install fonts-quicksand
Install fonts-quicksand Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install fonts-quicksand
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install fonts-quicksand
Install fonts-quicksand Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install fonts-quicksand
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install fonts-quicksand
How To Uninstall fonts-quicksand on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the fonts-quicksand
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove fonts-quicksand
Uninstall fonts-quicksand And Its Dependencies
To uninstall fonts-quicksand
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove fonts-quicksand
Remove fonts-quicksand Configurations and Data
To remove fonts-quicksand
configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge fonts-quicksand
Remove fonts-quicksand configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove fonts-quicksand
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge fonts-quicksand
