What is font-manager-common
font-manager-common is:
Font Manager is intended to provide a way for average users to easily manage desktop fonts, without having to resort to command line tools or editing configuration files by hand. While designed primarily with the GNOME Desktop Environment in mind, it should work well with other Gtk+ desktop environments.
This package provides the common shared files for font-viewer and font-manager packages.
There are three methods to install font-manager-common on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install font-manager-common Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install font-manager-common using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install font-manager-common
Install font-manager-common Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install font-manager-common using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install font-manager-common
Install font-manager-common Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install font-manager-common using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install font-manager-common
How To Uninstall font-manager-common on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the font-manager-common package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove font-manager-common
