How To Install fcitx-imlist on Ubuntu

In this tutorial we learn how to install fcitx-imlist on Ubuntu.
What is fcitx-imlist
fcitx-imlist is:
fcitx-imlist is a small program to show or change input method list.
This software is useful for the people who switch keyboard layout frequently - sometimes use equipped keyboard of mobile PC, sometimes use different layout of external keyboard with that PC.
There are three methods to install fcitx-imlist on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install fcitx-imlist Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install fcitx-imlist using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install fcitx-imlist
Install fcitx-imlist Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install fcitx-imlist using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install fcitx-imlist
Install fcitx-imlist Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install fcitx-imlist using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install fcitx-imlist
How To Uninstall fcitx-imlist on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the fcitx-imlist package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove fcitx-imlist
Uninstall fcitx-imlist And Its Dependencies
To uninstall fcitx-imlist and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove fcitx-imlist
Remove fcitx-imlist Configurations and Data
To remove fcitx-imlist configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge fcitx-imlist
Remove fcitx-imlist configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove fcitx-imlist configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge fcitx-imlist
