In this tutorial we learn how to install fbx-tasks on Ubuntu.

What is fbx-tasks

fbx-tasks is:

FreedomBox is designed to be your own inexpensive server at home. It runs free software and offers an increasing number of services ranging from a calendar or jabber server to a wiki or VPN. A web interface allows you to easily install and configure your apps.

This package provides FreedomBox tasks in tasksel.

There are three methods to install fbx-tasks on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install fbx-tasks Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install fbx-tasks using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install fbx-tasks

Install fbx-tasks Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install fbx-tasks using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install fbx-tasks

Install fbx-tasks Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install fbx-tasks using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install fbx-tasks

How To Uninstall fbx-tasks on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the fbx-tasks package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove fbx-tasks

Uninstall fbx-tasks And Its Dependencies

To uninstall fbx-tasks and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove fbx-tasks

Remove fbx-tasks Configurations and Data

To remove fbx-tasks configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge fbx-tasks

Remove fbx-tasks configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove fbx-tasks configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge fbx-tasks
