In this tutorial we learn how to install evolution-plugins on Ubuntu.

What is evolution-plugins

evolution-plugins is:

Evolution is a groupware suite which integrates mail, calendar, address book, to-do list and memo tools.

This package includes plugins for evolution. The plugins belong to the set of “standard” plugins, which are useful, but not necessary for a functioning application.

The following standard plugins are included.

There are three methods to install evolution-plugins on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install evolution-plugins Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install evolution-plugins using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install evolution-plugins

Install evolution-plugins Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install evolution-plugins using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install evolution-plugins

Install evolution-plugins Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install evolution-plugins using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install evolution-plugins

How To Uninstall evolution-plugins on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the evolution-plugins package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove evolution-plugins

Uninstall evolution-plugins And Its Dependencies

To uninstall evolution-plugins and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove evolution-plugins

Remove evolution-plugins Configurations and Data

To remove evolution-plugins configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge evolution-plugins

Remove evolution-plugins configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove evolution-plugins configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge evolution-plugins
