What is erlang-cowboy
erlang-cowboy is:
Cowboy is also a socket acceptor pool, able to accept connections for any kind of TCP protocol.
Cowboy aims to provide the following advantages:
- ‘Small’ code base.
- Damn ‘fast’.
- ‘Modular’: transport and protocol handlers are replaceable.
- ‘Binary HTTP’ for greater speed and lower memory usage.
- Easy to ’embed’ inside another application.
- Selectively ‘dispatch’ requests to handlers, allowing you to send some requests to your embedded code and others to a FastCGI application in PHP or Ruby.
- No parameterized module. No process dictionary. ‘Clean’ Erlang code.
There are three methods to install erlang-cowboy on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install erlang-cowboy Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install erlang-cowboy using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install erlang-cowboy

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install erlang-cowboy using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
