In this tutorial we learn how to install eqonomize on Ubuntu.

What is eqonomize

eqonomize is:

Eqonomize! is a personal accounting software for KDE, with focus on efficiency and ease of use for the small household economy. It provides a complete solution, with bookkeeping by double entry and support for scheduled recurring transactions, security investments, and budgeting. It gives a clear overview of past and present transactions, and development of incomes and expenses, with descriptive tables and charts, as well as an approximation of future account values.

There are three methods to install eqonomize on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install eqonomize Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install eqonomize using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install eqonomize

Install eqonomize Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install eqonomize using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install eqonomize

Install eqonomize Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install eqonomize using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install eqonomize

How To Uninstall eqonomize on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the eqonomize package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove eqonomize

Remove eqonomize Configurations and Data

To remove eqonomize configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge eqonomize

Remove eqonomize configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove eqonomize configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge eqonomize
