Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install elpa-xelb on Ubuntu.

What is elpa-xelb

elpa-xelb is:

XELB (X protocol Emacs Lisp Binding) is a pure Elisp implementation of X11 protocol based on the XML description files from XCB project. It features an object-oriented API and permits a certain degree of concurrency. It should enable you to implement some low-level X11 applications. Please refer to xelb.el for more details.

There are three methods to install elpa-xelb on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install elpa-xelb Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install elpa-xelb using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install elpa-xelb

Install elpa-xelb Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install elpa-xelb using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install elpa-xelb

Install elpa-xelb Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install elpa-xelb using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install elpa-xelb

How To Uninstall elpa-xelb on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the elpa-xelb package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove elpa-xelb

Uninstall elpa-xelb And Its Dependencies

To uninstall elpa-xelb and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove elpa-xelb

Remove elpa-xelb Configurations and Data

To remove elpa-xelb configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge elpa-xelb

Remove elpa-xelb configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove elpa-xelb configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge elpa-xelb
