In this tutorial we learn how to install elpa-undercover on Ubuntu.
What is elpa-undercover
elpa-undercover is:
This package provides a test coverage tools for Emacs packages.
Important notes about undercover.el:
- it assumes a certain development cycle of your package;
- it doesn’t support test coverage for byte-compiled files;
- it is based on edebug and may have some issues with macros coverage;
- it doesn’t support Circular Objects.
There are three methods to install elpa-undercover on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install elpa-undercover Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install elpa-undercover using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install elpa-undercover
Install elpa-undercover Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install elpa-undercover using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install elpa-undercover
Install elpa-undercover Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install elpa-undercover using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install elpa-undercover
How To Uninstall elpa-undercover on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the elpa-undercover package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove elpa-undercover
Uninstall elpa-undercover And Its Dependencies
To uninstall elpa-undercover and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove elpa-undercover
Remove elpa-undercover Configurations and Data
To remove elpa-undercover configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge elpa-undercover

We can use the following command to remove elpa-undercover configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
