In this tutorial we learn how to install elpa-company-lsp on Ubuntu.

What is `elpa-company-lsp`

elpa-company-lsp is:

It provides features that are not available by using company-capf + lsp-mode:

Support trigger characters. For example typing . will trigger completion for TypeScript.
Use completion item’s label as completion labels and replace it with its insertText if available.
Fetch completion candidates asynchronously
Apply text edits specified by completion candidates after completion.
Do not cache the completion candidates if they are incomplete.
Expand snippets on completion (requires elpa-yasnippet).

There are three methods to install elpa-company-lsp on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install elpa-company-lsp Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
