Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install discodos on Ubuntu.

What is discodos

discodos is:

DiscoDOS helps a DJ remember and analyze what they played in their sets, or what they could possibly play in the future. It’s based on data pulled from a users Discogs record collection. Tracks can be organized into playlists and mix-transitions rated. Additionally the collection can be linked to MusicBrainz and AcousticBrainz, thus further information (like musical key and BPM) is made available to the user.

There are three methods to install discodos on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install discodos Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install discodos using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install discodos

Install discodos Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install discodos using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install discodos

Install discodos Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo apt-get remove discodos

sudo apt-get -y autoremove discodos

To remove discodos configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
