In this tutorial we learn how to install cutmp3 on Ubuntu.

What is cutmp3

cutmp3 is:

cutmp3 is a small and fast command line MP3 editor. It lets you select sections of an MP3 interactively or via a timetable and save them to separate files without quality loss. It uses mpg123 for playback and works with VBR files and even with files bigger than 2GB. Other features are configurable silence seeking and ID3 tag seeking, which are useful for concatenated mp3s.

There are three methods to install cutmp3 on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install cutmp3 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install cutmp3 using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install cutmp3 using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install cutmp3 using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install cutmp3

How To Uninstall cutmp3 on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the cutmp3 package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove cutmp3

Uninstall cutmp3 And Its Dependencies

To uninstall cutmp3 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove cutmp3

Remove cutmp3 Configurations and Data

To remove cutmp3 configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge cutmp3

Remove cutmp3 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove cutmp3 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
