Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install conjugar on Ubuntu.

What is conjugar

conjugar is:

Text only program to conjugate Portuguese verbs as spoken in Brazil.

If the entered expression is not a verb, conjugar tries to find it among the conjugated forms of known verbs. It also has the option of conjugating verbs as ordinary Brazilians do. In fact, Brazilians of different regions deviate from the normative grammar in different ways, but the conjugation displayed will already help foreigners to grasp what Brazilians are saying.

This program is console based. Alternatively, you can use GConjugue, the graphical (GTK+) version for conjugar.

There are three methods to install conjugar on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install conjugar Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install conjugar using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install conjugar

Install conjugar Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install conjugar using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install conjugar

Install conjugar Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install conjugar using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install conjugar

How To Uninstall conjugar on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the conjugar package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove conjugar

Uninstall conjugar And Its Dependencies

To uninstall conjugar and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove conjugar

Remove conjugar Configurations and Data

To remove conjugar configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge conjugar

Remove conjugar configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove conjugar configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge conjugar
