on Ubuntu.
What is chibi-scheme
chibi-scheme is:
Chibi-Scheme is a really small embeddable interpreter of R7RS Scheme, intended for use as an extension and scripting language in C programs.
This package provides REPL and interpreter “chibi-scheme” as well as tools for documenting Scheme code (“chibi-doc”), generating FFI bindings (“chibi-ffi”), and managing Scheme packages (“snow-chibi”).
There are three methods to install chibi-scheme
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install chibi-scheme Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install chibi-scheme
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install chibi-scheme
Install chibi-scheme Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install chibi-scheme
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install chibi-scheme
Install chibi-scheme Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude

using aptitude
