What is bornagain

bornagain is:

BornAgain is a software package to simulate and fit small-angle scattering at grazing incidence. It supports analysis of both X-ray (GISAXS) and neutron (GISANS) data. Calculations are carried out in the framework of the distorted wave Born approximation (DWBA). BornAgain provides a graphical user interface for interactive use as well as a generic Python and C++ framework for modeling multilayer samples with smooth or rough interfaces and with various types of embedded nanoparticles.

There are three methods to install bornagain on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install bornagain Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install bornagain using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install bornagain

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install bornagain using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install bornagain

Install bornagain Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install bornagain using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install bornagain

How To Uninstall bornagain on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the bornagain package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove bornagain

Uninstall bornagain And Its Dependencies

To uninstall bornagain and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove bornagain

Remove bornagain Configurations and Data

To remove bornagain configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge bornagain
