In this tutorial we learn how to install beignet-dev on Ubuntu.

What is beignet-dev

beignet-dev is:

OpenCL (Open Computing Language) is a multivendor open standard for general-purpose parallel programming of heterogeneous systems that include CPUs, GPUs and other processors.

This package contains the documentation specific to this implementation, the development files for Intel OpenCL extensions, and a (general) OpenCL testing tool.

There are three methods to install beignet-dev on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install beignet-dev Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install beignet-dev using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install beignet-dev

Install beignet-dev Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install beignet-dev using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install beignet-dev

Install beignet-dev Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install beignet-dev using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install beignet-dev

How To Uninstall beignet-dev on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the beignet-dev package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove beignet-dev

Uninstall beignet-dev And Its Dependencies

To uninstall beignet-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove beignet-dev

Remove beignet-dev Configurations and Data

To remove beignet-dev configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge beignet-dev

Remove beignet-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove beignet-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge beignet-dev
