Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install autodia on Ubuntu.

What is autodia

autodia is:

AutoDia (Automatic Dia XML) is a modular application that parses source code, XML or data and produces an XML document in Dia format[1] (or images via graphviz and vcg).

Its goal is to be a UML/DB Schema diagram autocreation package. The diagrams its creates are standard UML diagrams showing dependencies, superclasses, packages, classes and inheritances, as well as the methods, etc of each class.

AutoDia supports any language that a Handler has been written for - see below for an up to date list.

There are three methods to install autodia on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install autodia Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install autodia using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install autodia

Install autodia Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install autodia using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install autodia

Install autodia Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install autodia using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install autodia

How To Uninstall autodia on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the autodia package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove autodia

Uninstall autodia And Its Dependencies

To uninstall autodia and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove autodia

Remove autodia Configurations and Data

To remove autodia configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge autodia

Remove autodia configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove autodia configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge autodia
