In this tutorial we learn how to install assimp-testmodels
on Ubuntu.
What is assimp-testmodels
assimp-testmodels is:
Assimp is a library to import various well-known 3D model formats (“assets”) in a uniform manner. Assimp aims at providing a full asset conversion pipeline for use in game engines / realtime rendering systems of any kind but is not limited to this audience.
This package contains 3D models in various formats for testing assimp.
There are three methods to install assimp-testmodels
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install assimp-testmodels Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install assimp-testmodels
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install assimp-testmodels
Install assimp-testmodels Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install assimp-testmodels
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install assimp-testmodels

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update

using aptitude
