What is apt-dater-host
apt-dater-host is:
apt-dater provides an easy to use ncurses frontend for managing package updates on a large number of remote hosts using SSH. It supports Debian-based managed hosts as well as openSUSE and CentOS based systems.
This package provides the helper application for apt-dater. It has to be installed on every apt-dater managed host.
There are three methods to install apt-dater-host on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install apt-dater-host Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install apt-dater-host using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install apt-dater-host

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install apt-dater-host using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
