Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install aodh-common
on Ubuntu.
What is aodh-common
aodh-common is:
Ceilometer aims to deliver a Single Point Of Contact for billing systems, providing all the counters they need to establish customer billing, across all current and future OpenStack components. The delivery of counters must be traceable and auditable, the counters must be easily extensible to support new projects, and agents doing data collections should be independent of the overall system.
(A ceilometer is an instrument that measures cloud coverage.)
This package contains files that are needed for all parts of Aodh.
There are three methods to install aodh-common
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install aodh-common Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install aodh-common
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install aodh-common

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install aodh-common
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install aodh-common
Install aodh-common Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install aodh-common
using aptitude

sudo aptitude -y install aodh-common
