In this tutorial we learn how to install ansible-mitogen
on Ubuntu.
What is ansible-mitogen
ansible-mitogen is:
Mitogen for Ansible is a completely redesigned UNIX connection layer and module runtime for Ansible. Requiring minimal configuration changes, it updates Ansible’s slow and wasteful shell-centric implementation with pure-Python equivalents, invoked via highly efficient remote procedure calls to persistent interpreters tunnelled over SSH. No changes are required to target hosts.
There are three methods to install ansible-mitogen
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ansible-mitogen Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install ansible-mitogen
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ansible-mitogen
Install ansible-mitogen Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install ansible-mitogen
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install ansible-mitogen
Install ansible-mitogen Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install ansible-mitogen
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ansible-mitogen
How To Uninstall ansible-mitogen on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the ansible-mitogen
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ansible-mitogen
Uninstall ansible-mitogen And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ansible-mitogen
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ansible-mitogen
Remove ansible-mitogen Configurations and Data
To remove ansible-mitogen
configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ansible-mitogen
Remove ansible-mitogen configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove ansible-mitogen
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge ansible-mitogen
