In this tutorial we learn how to install ambdec
on Ubuntu.
What is ambdec
ambdec is:
AmbDec is an Ambisonics decoder for up to 36 speakers. It can be used for both horizontal and full 3-D systems of first, second and third order. The decoding matrices are fully user-configurable. AmbDec has some advanced features not found on most decoders:
- Dual frequency band operation.
- Speaker distance compensation.
- Near-field effect compensation.
All three features can be selectively enabled or disabled in the configuration.
There are three methods to install ambdec
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ambdec Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install ambdec
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ambdec
