The Indoor Air Monitor is a USB flash drive-shaped sensor which measures the surrounding’s air pollution. This driver prints a list with all connected sensors and their current values to the commandline. The air quality is displayed on the hardware token by three indicator lamps with the colours green (= good), yellow (= average) and red (= bad), the same colors are also printed by this tool.
There are three methods to install air-quality-sensor on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install air-quality-sensor Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install air-quality-sensor using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install air-quality-sensor
Install air-quality-sensor Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install air-quality-sensor using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install air-quality-sensor
Install air-quality-sensor Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install air-quality-sensor using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install air-quality-sensor
How To Uninstall air-quality-sensor on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the air-quality-sensor package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove air-quality-sensor
