Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install adun-core on Ubuntu.
What is adun-core
adun-core is:
Adun is a biomolecular simulator that also includes data management and analysis capabilities. It was developed at the Computational Biophysics and Biochemistry Laboratory, a part of the Research Unit on Biomedical Informatics of the UPF.
This package contains the AdunCore program and the Adun server. If you want the graphical UI frontend, install the adun.app package.
There are three methods to install adun-core on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install adun-core Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install adun-core using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install adun-core
Install adun-core Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install adun-core using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install adun-core
Install adun-core Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install adun-core using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install adun-core
How To Uninstall adun-core on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the adun-core package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove adun-core
Uninstall adun-core And Its Dependencies
To uninstall adun-core and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove adun-core
Remove adun-core Configurations and Data
To remove adun-core configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge adun-core
Remove adun-core configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove adun-core configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge adun-core
