Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install abyss
on Ubuntu.
What is abyss
abyss is:
ABySS is a de novo, parallel, sequence assembler that is designed for short reads. It may be used to assemble genome or transcriptome sequence data. Parallelization is achieved using MPI, OpenMP and pthread.
There are three methods to install abyss
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install abyss Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install abyss
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install abyss

After updating apt database, We can install abyss
